By attending this workshop it will ensure that you have a basic knowledge of Deaf culture and NZSL, an official language of New Zealand. To ensure accessibility and equality within your organisation to the 400,000 New Zealanders that are Deaf or hard of hearing.

This is a professional 2-hour professional development workshop regarding Deaf Culture and NZSL. Helping businesses understanding Deaf clients/customers. Did you know that NZSL was banned in New Zealand for over 100 years? That the literacy age of a Deaf adult in New Zealand is the same as an 8-year-old child? Information like this helps businesses to better communicate with their Deaf customers, after all, Deaf people take out insurance, they go to the Doctor, they order coffee and with 444,000 Deaf/hard of hearing people in New Zealand, some are bound to come to Smales Farm!
