If you’re visiting us or are part of our community, here’s some helpful information to make for a smooth ride. Parking is also FREE after 5pm weekdays and all throughout the weekend.
Effective from Monday 30th September 2019, all the current onsite parking machines will be updated to new Pay by Plate machines. These new machines will make paying for parking by Smales Farm residents and visitors a lot easier and accessible as they accept credit / debit card, coins and payment through the Parkmate app (www.parkmate.co.nz). The new Pay by Plate machines are ticketless making them more convenient and better for the environment.
As part of this process we are redesignating the majority of ‘time limited’ parking areas on the Farm (P60 and P90) to P180, with the first 30 minutes free of charge. The cost here after remains the same at $2.50 an hour. The current ‘All Day Pay & Display’ parking areas and costs will remain as they are, but with payment via the new Pay by Plate machines.
Parking at Smales Farm is still free post 5pm weekdays and on weekends.
These changes are being made in response to consistent feedback regarding parking supply on Smales Farm. This new system is intended to provide an improved parking experience for residents and visitors that is as clear and straightforward as possible. We believe these changes will have a positive impact for Smales Farm visitors, businesses, tenants and our hospitality and retail services.
The parking machine installation and signage update will be undertaken on Thursday 26th & Friday 27th September 2019, ready for a Monday September 30th launch. As noted above, we are not increasing our hourly parking charges and the rates remain as they are currently.
